2018 Aston Martin AM-RB 001 Hypercar


The 2018 Aston Martin AM-RB 001 is an innovative Hypercar, which is going to be released for the model year 2018. It is cooperation between the Milton Keynes, England-based Formula One racing team in Austria, Red Bull Racing, and the British auto manufacturer, Aston Martin. The British automaker claims that the new model AM-RB 001 vehicle can be used both as a sports car and as a street going car. The collaboration between Aston Martin and Formula One blends the skills and visions of two world-topping brands to produce a road car, which has not at all been seen earlier. This luxury hypercar will be made in only 100 to 150 units.

The AM-RB 001 will get completely different exterior than we used to see in Aston Martin design. It has more hypercar body shape design, like Koenigsegg, LaFerrari or Buggati… The body of the new vehicle will be constructed around a carbon-fiber composition and its aerodynamic kit will bring unique levels of downforce in a street-legal car. In addition, the automaker claims that the major part of this downforce is produced through underground aerodynamics. Furthermore, it most likely indicates that the design of the chassis of the new vehicle will be based on that of the Formula One model of Red Bull.

The external styling of the new coupe will be similar to that of an LMP1 Le Mans model. Consequently, the 2018 AM-RB 001 will feature a low-profile, a short hooter, short overhangs, a canopy-like top, and strong massive fender. The front part of the vehicle will feature the same headlamps as those of the current model. Around rear, it carries the same design of the current model, as well. However, the AM-RB 001 has a large space for air, rather than the conventional diffuser that goes all the way to the floor, which passes the air from the lower part of the front end.

Interior

The automaker has not yet revealed the interior design of the 2018 Aston Martin AM-RB 001, there are no photos over the Internet yet. We are very curious to find out about cabin design. Fortunately, there are some data and rumors about the interior. Seems like the new creative interior will be derived from the purpose and the looks of the new luxury beast. It should receive a driver-centered, race-stimulated interior. The cabin should get the simple dashboard with a huge monitor for a center stack, a completely digital instrument cluster, showing all kinds of performance-associated parameters. Finally, there is LMP1 model-stimulated steering wheel, and a couple of carbon-fiber made bucket seats.

The 2017 AM-RB 001 is expected to be powered by a V12 naturally aspirated powertrain, but its performance figures have not yet revealed by the automaker. However, it is confirmed that the engine has the power to accomplish a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1, which converts into one PS for each kilogram of weight. Finally, the most interesting thing, AM-RB 001 accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3 seconds(rumors claim less than 3 sec) and makes the new vehicle attain the top speed of 220 mph.

Base cost and the date of release

Similar to all other manufacturers, the automaker of the new AM-RB 001 2018 has not yet revealed its base price and the date of release. However, it is expected that the new hypercar will hit the dealerships of Aston Martin during the first quarter of 2018. The starting price is estimated to be £2.3-2.5 million (approx 3-3.25 million USD).
