The 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta is the convertible adaptation of the LaFerrari, manufactured by the Maranello-based sports car manufacturer in Italy. This is a new limited version special series, which is targeted at customers and collectors that turn down to compromise on the delight of the drop-top driving even when at high velocities. However, the Italian manufacturer will announce the name, the number of units to be produced and its technical features at the 2016 International Motor Show to be held in Paris shortly. However, all available models have been sold previously to customers following a special preview and the order book is now closed. Although 499 units of the new LaFerrari Aperta will be constructed with a fixed roof, it is rumored that buyers have to wait further to get the 150 to 200 units of the open-top version.

The hardtop or soft-top of the 2017 Ferrari Aperta will be will be made out of carbon fiber material. The chassis comes with considerable and extensive changes with the intention of retaining the similar beam stiffness and torsional rigidity like those of the coupe version. However, the major difference between the new LaFerrari Aperta and the LaFerrari coupe is only the roof.
The latest convertible models of Ferrari, such as the California T and the 488 Spider, have been constructed with the folding hardtops, but the new LaFerrari Aperta will be constructed with detachable hardtop or soft-top. This is because of the additional weight of a complete convertible and the firm packaging of the mid-installed powertrain and hybrid system. The aerodynamics has also been additionally honed to promise the equal drag coefficient even without the top.

The interior of the 2017 LaFerrari Aperta will not get any major changes in its interior design. This means that the new sportscar is expected to come with the same interiors features, similar to those of the coupe version. All is race-based with race-inspired elements fitted with classic Ferrari interior look. There is customizable instrument cluster, besides flat up/down steering wheel. Also, there is the central console, but without display. Seat part of doors and some other details are wrapped in Starlite Alcantara leather. Finally, everything inside cabin is made from lightweight material, in order to enhance speed.

The LaFerrari Aperta 2017 from new Ferrari features the identical gear organization and performance figures as those of the original LaFerrari. The new coupe comes equipped with a V12 powertrain with the displacement of 6.3 liters. This traditional power unit will be capable of producing the greatest power output of 789 horsepower. This will be coupled with an electric motor of capacity 120 kW to produce the additional power output of 161 horsepower. As a result, the 2017 model LaFerrari Aperta will get the total power output of 950 horsepower.
The Italian automaker claims that driving with the top down will not have an effect on the drag coefficient of the vehicle. This possibly means that the buyers will get to benefit from the same top speed of 217 mph even when the air stream is passing through their hair.
Base price and the release date
Even though the Italian auto manufacturer has not yet confirmed the base price and the release date of the 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, it is expected that the new Italian star will be released for sale sometime during 2017. Similarly, the base price is estimated to be € 3.5 million ($ 3,684,520).
