Dodge originally launched the Challenger TA in 1970 and at that time, the vehicle was the most commanding model in the lineup, bypassing the performance of most of its competitors in its class. The main purpose of the launch of the model was to participate and to win the SCCA racing, beating the industry giants, the Camaro Z28 of Chevrolet and the Mustang Boss 302 of Ford. It was designed with a distinctive outside styling and as a performance-focused vehicle with a powerful engine. In the same way, the 2017 Dodge Challenger TA is expected to come with the same characteristics of the original model, but this time, it will be equipped with two different powertrains and with an exceptional exterior package. The new Challenger will be launched with three models that include base TA, Challenger TA Plus, and Challenger TA 392.
2017 Dodge Challenger TA Exterior
This time, the new Dodge Challenger TA 2017 will be offered with a special external package that comes with standard external features, such as double headlamps, similar to those of the Dodge Hellcat Challenger. All models of the new vehicle will be offered with a tarnish black hood, with a handy top scoop. This will feed the air to the engine inlet through a chilly air ingestion kit.
The 2017 Challenger TA and the T/A Plus models will be offered with a set of black Mopar wheels with the diameter of 20 inches, bounded by F1 tires from Goodyear Eagle as standard.

On the other hand, the Challenger T/A 392 will be offered with a set of 20×9.5 inches, less luster black finished artificial aluminum wheels, bounded by 275/40Z-series high-performance tires from Pirelli as standard.
Some of the other notable external changes available with the new model include a prominent front grille, a satin black fuel door and rear spoiler, Mopar hood pins, unique satin black TA streaks on its sides, a roof with a satin black finish.
Buyers opting for the Challenger T/A 392 will get the vehicle with a set of ultra high-performance Brembo brakes with six pistons in the front and four pistons at the back.
Dodge Challenger TA 2017 Interior
The 2017 Dodge Challenger TA and TA Plus models will be offered with the UConnect infotainment system and a cloth interior as standard, whereas the Challenger TA 392 variant will be offered with a luxurious interior. Furthermore, the TA plus model will be offered with a special Plus package that includes heated and cooled seats in the front, upholstered in Nappa leather. Also, there are the latest fourth generation UConnect system with a with a touch-screen of size 8.4 inches and devoted Performance Pages key, a leather-covered steering wheel and a high-quality sound system with six speakers.

Some of the standard features available with the Challenger TA model include seats with Houndstooth textile inserts, curved steering wheel, luster black detailed and Bright White faced gauge cluster, and ground mats bearing the Dodge emblem.
Some of the added features with the Challenger TA Plus trim are Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, bright images, a quicker startup time, and improved graphics abilities. It also comes equipped with a premium sound system with a digital amplifier of 276 watts and six powerful speakers.
2017 Dodge Challenger TA interior
The 2017 Challenger TA and TA plus models come equipped with a V8, 5.7-liter HEMI power unit used in the Challenger RT model. Through this powertrain, the vehicle would get the essential power and twist of 375 HP and 410 lbs per foot respectively.
When comes to the powertrain option of the Challenger T/A 392, the vehicle comes outfitted with a V8, 6.4-liter capacity Hemi powertrain to get the required power and twist of 485 horsepower and 475 lbs per foot respectively. This is 110 HP and 65 lbs per foot more than those received by other two Challenger models.

With these powertrains, all models would get better acceleration to get the velocity of 60 mph from the start in 4.5 seconds.
All powertrains will be mated to a Tremec six-velocity manual transmission system as standard and a TorqueFlite eight-velocity automatic transmission system with paddle shifters and Sport mode as an option.
Base cost and the date of release
All the models of the 2017 Challenger TA will be available for sale during the last quarter of 2016. While the Challenger TA model will be available at a starting price of $37,390, the TA Plus and the T/A 392 models will be available at $40,140 and $43,995 respectively.
