The Touareg from the German automobile producer, Volkswagen, is an opulence sport utility vehicle, which was originally launched in 2002 for the model year 2003. This is a medium-sized crossover and it got its name from a nomadic culture, known as Tuareg, which represent people living in the interior of the Sahara Desert in North Africa. Volkswagen has plans to redesign the current Touareg model for the model year 2018. Most design details of the 2018 Volkswagen Touareg are not yet revealed, but it is expected that it may get some notable improvements according to the expectations of modern day buyers.

2018 Volkswagen Touareg Exterior
It is expected that the new VW Touareg 2018 will maintain the current external styling, except some minor redesign in its external styling, meaning it would come with the same size as that of its predecessor. When comes to external styling, the new Touareg would get most of its features from the T-Prime Concept GTE vehicle, which was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Show held at Beijing. Consequently, the front fascia of the vehicle would come outfitted with an aggressive grille, which will be bigger than the earlier model. It will be surrounded by a set of slender headlights, C-fashion LED daylight running lights, and an athletic bumper.
Around back, the vehicle comes equipped with slim tail lamps, lowered tailgate, and a plethora of chrome on the back plate and bumper. The vehicle comes with the similar side panels as those of the earlier model, but it is expected that the automaker will offer it with a more prominent beltline and beefier wheel curves when compared to those of its predecessor.
The new VW Touareg 2018 will be constructed with the same external dimensions of the outgoing Touareg. Therefore, it comes with the body length of 189.0 inches and width of 75 inches.
Volkswagen Touareg 2018 Interior
Similar to the exterior, the 2018 Volkswagen Touareg would borrow most of its features from the T-Prime Concept GTE vehicle. As a result, its cabin comes equipped with a big touchscreen, positioned in the mid part of the dashboard. Although the instrument cluster, dashboard, and door panels are taken from the concept crossover, they will be redesigned according to the modern day needs with the high-tech expertise.
Although the new vehicle comes with a lower roof, passengers can get more headroom because of the lower-positioned seats. All rear seat passengers will get more shoulder room and legroom. It is expected that the 2018 Touareg will come with a bigger trunk area and more storage space.
Similar to the outgoing Touareg, the new 2018 Volkswagen Touareg will be offered with both diesel and petrol powertrains. The US version of the new vehicle will be offered with a V6 gasoline power unit with the displacement of 3.0 liters and a hybrid engine with an electric motor combined with the same V6 engine. The 3.0-liter will be tuned to offer the new vehicle the required power of 300 HP, whereas the hybrid engine will offer the vehicle the combined power of 400 HP.
On the other hand, V6 diesels engine with the displacement of 3.0 liters will power the European version. This will generate the maximum power and twist of 220 HP and 350 lbs per foot respectively.
The new 2018 Volkswagen Touareg will most likely get a four-cylinder 2.0-liter capacity power plant, as well. This will be offered chiefly in Europe and China.
Volkswagen has not yet revealed the performance figures of any of the engines of the new model Touareg.
