Many years Mercedes didn’t have a serious performance sport car, we can say supercar. However, for the last two year, things have been changed. The factory creates the first AMG GT, the first supercar from Bavarian. The AMG GT R is the top-performance trim of the GT series. It was introduced to replace the 2013 model SLS AMG GT. The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R a bit refreshed model with the combination of speed and strength of GT-S and GT3 models, which is to be introduced as the 2018 model. The new GT-R will also be constructed as a sports coupe with two doors.
2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R Redesign
Most of the external styling of the new coupe is similar to that of the GT model. However, it comes with a more aggressive look that its predecessor and it borrows most of its outside features from the GT3 race coupe. The front part comes outfitted with a bigger grille with upright slats, similar to that of the GT3 with the name AMG Panamericana. We can see that the side air intakes are the same size or even smaller, with a bit changed splitter which now has two horizontal air barriers. Furthermore, Germans claim that aerodynamics is better, the coupe has got higher grades in wind tunnel. It also comes with a quality roof made of carbon fiber that reduces the overall weight of the vehicle.

The car will have the same length but a bit wider, around 1.8 inches more, because of its wider front and back fenders. This, in turn, allows the automaker to offer the new 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT-R with a set of bigger wheels with the diameter of 20 inches.
Observing the new vehicle from sides, it comes equipped with restyled skirts at its sides. Other changes include frivolous artificial matte-finished wheels, with the model-specific rims and high-performance tires, and black mirror caps.
The rear part of the vehicle comes outfitted with a wing to offer its axles at the back an amplified downforce. The back part also comes equipped with a gigantic dual diffuser and a big aerofoil. The big centrally installed exhaust tip, surrounded by two smaller openings on both sides of the diffuser offers a unique look to the exterior of the vehicle.

New Mercedes-AMG GT R 2018 Interior
Similar to the exterior, most of the interior elements are very similar to those of the GT3 race car. For example, the middle console elevated display and dashboard. The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R cabin comes equipped with the combination of leather, plastic, and chrome. Furthermore the physically modifiable sports seats, which are covered with Dinamica microfiber and Nappa leather. The newly introduced standard interior feature in the new vehicle is the Night package and Interior Piano Lacquer package.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT R 2018 would get its required power and torque from a V8, double-turbo power unit with the capacity of 4.0-liters. As expected, this powertrain offers the new vehicle the required power and torque of 577 ponies @ 6,250 rpm and 516 lbs per foot @ 1,900-5,500 rpm respectively. This is 75 HP and 35 lbs per foot more than the power and torque received by the GT-S model. This 2018 Mercedes GTR engine will be mated to a fine-tuned seven-velocity double-clutch transmission system for more rapid shifts.
With this powertrain, the new german beast goes from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and the maximum speed of 198 mph.

Base cost and the date of release
The new Mercedes-AMG GT R 2018 is expected to hit the dealerships during the last quarter of 2017 with the estimated base price that varies between $150,000 and $160,000.
