The World of cars has been changed, time for hybrid and electric vehicles has come. The Porsche has been always known for high-performance gasoline models, however, to keep up with the global changes, they must change its direction of development. One of the models shows us that Germans are going in the right directions. It is the 2018 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, the car that still offers high performance, but with much less use of gasoline. It uses battery powered technology producing greater power compared to the standard Panamera. It’s full of comfort and luxury opening a new chapter in the history of motoring.

Most of the features are almost the same to standard Panamera, but not all identical. For example, the C-pillar has been redesigned plus it has quarter windows now, unlike the previous model. The nose is a little lowered, also the tailgate is different and comes with a beefier bumper. If wee look around, the spoilers are quite large it extends on both sides of the car and giving it a large area for down force. In addition, the front fenders are budged.
Dimensions are the length of 198.78 inches, the width of 76.26 inches, and Height 56.0 Inches. The wheelbase is 116.14 inches in measurement making it longer, to be precise 1.34 inches longer compared to the older version. Permissible gross weight is 5974 lb or 2710 kg.

The Panamera is a big 4-door sport with the big and luxury interior, from top leather to latest informant system. The first thing you see in the cabin is the dashboard that has a two 7-inches displays fitted around analog rev counter. One screen shows the boosting energy option, cruise control…(right one) and other one showing speed, traffic sign recognition(left one)…You can configure it yourself, and choose navigation for example. With those displays, it’s quite easy to regulate the electric drive mode.
At the central console, there is a big 12-inch touchscreen display, which is updated with latest Porsche communication management or PCM. It is possible to control almost everything from here, there are audio interfaces, mobile phone preparation, air conditioning, infotainment functions, navigation, voice operation, and others…In fact, it resembles the one on Porsche 918 Spyder.
Furthermore, it has a 21-speaker 3D sound system and beautiful cabin LED lights. The new Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid 2018 is fitted with comfort and latest art of technology on both front and rear seats. There is a large storage area of the door panels and has two cup holders compared to the predecessor which had only one. It has a sporty steering wheel just like the 918.It’s well packaged for better leg room, head, and the shoulders. The Suspension Management and safety assistance system brings more fun in the car.
2018 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Interior
New Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid 2018 will ride on a 2.9-liter(2,894 cc), V6 petrol engine which gives an output of 330 horsepower. It’s a twin turbo combined with electric motor(136-hp) giving it more torque and power but its fuel efficient. Together it produces total system output of 462 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque. It uses the 14.1-kWh lithium-ion battery which is liquid cooled and can be charged at the mains or when the sports mode is engaged. They 3.6-kilowatt(standard) charger require 12 hours with 120-volt outlet to charge completely. Optionally you could get the 7.2-kilowatt charger and with 240-volt plug-in, you can fully charge it for just 3 hours. The all-electric range is 31 miles. When the electric motor is working alone, it generates 136 horsepower. Transmission is 8-speed automatic PDK(Porsche Doppelkupplung).
The car comes with a dual-clutch automatic transmission giving it the very fast acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and from 0-100 mph goes for 10.7 sec. The 2018 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid has different driving modes; Hybrid Auto, sport, sport-plus mode, E-Power and E-charge mode. E-power switches the car to full electric mode. It increases efficiency and reduces the use of gas which is incredible, only 2.5 l/100km or 94 mpg, fantastic score from Germans. Hybrid mode is for fuel efficiency where the E-charge mode enables the V6 engine to power the batteries. When in sport-plus mode, the car can reach its maximum speed of 172 mph. It’s powerful enough to compete with other hybrids.
Price and release date
By November 2017 summer, it is expected to be available in North America. The price has not yet been released but it’s estimated to cost more than $100,000. However, it should be reasonable for a car with 462 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.
