The 2 Series from BMW is a small family car, which was constructed in many diverse body styles, such as coupe, convertible, and even as a Tourer. The model was introduced in the coupe body style as a substitute to the BMW 1 Series, and convertible body style as a substitute to BMW 1 Series Convertible. Now BMW has plans to release a redesigned version of the current model 2 Series for the model year 2018. Similar to its ancestors, the 2018 BMW 2 Series will also be released in both coupe and convertible body styles with minor tweaks in its interior, exterior, as well as in the Power-train section.
2018 BMW 2 Series Redesign
Buyers cannot expect the new BMW 2 Series 2018 with many modifications in its external styling. Passengers sitting at the back will now get more leg space and the cabin will be equipped with the most modern equipment, as it comes with a technology package. Some of the expected upgrades will include plenty of leg space for backseat passengers and a high-end technology package. BMW is going to update the engine section of the 2018 BMW 2 Series with a more powerful engine with the intention of improving its performance and fuel economy. As a result, the 2018 228i comes equipped with a 2.0-liter power unit, which is tuned to produce the maximum power output of 240 horsepower. On the other hand, the 2018 235i comes equipped with a 3.0-liter power unit, which is tuned to produce the maximum power output of 325 horsepower. The car will get an eight-speed sport-adjusted transmission system. For the model year, the new model coupe will be offered with the front-wheel drive system as standard.
Base cost and the date of release
Although BMW has not yet confirmed the base cost and the date of release of its 2018 model 2 Series, it is expected that the new vehicle will be available for sale during inter 2017. Regarding the base cost, the coupe body style will be available at $33,400 and the convertible will be available at a starting price of $39,200.
