With enhanced frontal styling and redacted rear look, the new 2018 Subaru Legacy is a mid-size sedan ideal for families. It’s recently launched in 2017 Auto Show in Chicago. Although the upcoming model is quite similar to its predecessor, but with advance technology integration and a bunch of noticeable changes in its exterior and interior look. Just like its predecessor, the 2018 Legacy will be presented in the market in four trim levels, premium and sports trim along with the base and limited trim.
2018 Subaru Legacy Changes
The exterior of the new model shows redesigned front bumper along with updated tailpipes, optional fog lamps, and broader front grille. The headlamps now have a detailing of the flat strip of chrome trim with C-shaped LED lights. No changes have been made to the rear end. Exhaust outlet, taillights, and rear bumper are revised. However, tailpipes have been incorporated at the back bumper to give the finest look. New wheel designs have also been added to the wheelbase of 108.3 inches whereas the length, height, and width are 188.8 inches, 59 inches, and 72.4 inches respectively. Curb weight is 3,697 Lbs. New LED lights ‘Konoji’ are installed to illuminate the car in daytime. The buyers can now have two additional colors ‘Crimson Red Pearl’ and Magnetite Gray Metallic’ to choose, so they can customize the exterior.

Subaru Legacy 2018 Interior
The interior shows more changes than the exterior. The passengers will have a peaceful ride as the new sedan is designed to be more comfortable, cozy and quieter from inside. The center console is also redesigned with premium upholstery choices for the buyers to choose between black, gray and ivory color’s upholstery. The whole family can enjoy together now as the new legacy is equipped with Subaru’s most recent infotainment version ‘Starlink’, with fastest CPU supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, iPod control, and Bluetooth connectivity along with 6.5 inches touch display. In Optional features, buyers can get an 8 inches display and 2 USB port for back seat passengers. The driver can also get free three years update with the TomTom Navigation. Other features include an upgraded climate control system, enhanced voice recognition and numbers of intriguing apps like eBird and Magellan NAVI.

The next gen Legacy will be having 2.5 liters, 4-cylinder engine. It’s a standard one for all four trim levels, however, the 2018 Subaru Legacy limited version will be having an optional 3.6-liter, 6 cylinder engine. The regular engine is supposed to produce 175 horsepower @ 5800 RPM and a torque of 175 pound-feet @ 4000 RPM, whereas the 6-cylinder engine would be generating 256 horsepower @ 6000 RPM and a torque of 247 pound-feet @ 4400 RPM. With dynamic torque vectoring both engines are matched with the standard all-wheel-drive system and CVT Continuously Variable Transmission. To diminish the body roll and to make the drive more receptive and smoother, the team has upgraded to electric power steering, tweaked the suspensions and has re-tuned the ECU. The fuel economy has not been disclosed by the team yet.

Release Date and Price
The upgraded Subaru model will be available for sale in 2017 summer giving a competition to other family size sedans. The price has not yet been announced, however, the 2017’s Subaru model has priced around 22,000 dollars, so the buyers could expect the price higher than the previous model.
With admirable safety scores and ample interior space, 2018 Subaru Legacy could be an ideal car for buyers looking for sporty feel and faster drive experience.
