2018 Hyundai Sonata Changes

As we already wrote, the exterior design will be changed, but we didn’t say that we can expect changes in so many levels. First of all, we can expect different chassis compared to the previous model. More precisely, the engineers will use more lightweight materials in the chassis construction, and thanks to that act the total weight of the vehicle will be reduced. Some other changes are related to the design of this vehicle. At the front side, we can see completely different fascia with the new grille, now side lateral lines break at the half of the grille, not at the top like to the older models. At the middle of the grille, we can see bigger Hyundai logo.

Also, under the grille, we can expect newly front bumper with different and more elegant openings for fog lights. The air intakes are also visible just below headlights, and they are bigger now. At the sides, we can expect completely different wheels design, double 5-spoke design, made from aluminum. However, we don’t know its size at this point. At the back, we can expect dual exhaust tips, as well as improved taillights. The headlights and the rest of the lighting will use the newest generation of LED technology. We can also expect coupe roofline.

Hyundai Sonata 2018 Interior design

The interior design is also improved, but not so much as the exterior. We can expect a bit better comfort than before. All seats should be wrapped in the leather, but besides, on the seats, we can see leather on the steering wheel and door trims. Also, we can expect a lot of high tech features. For example, in order to improve the entertainment in the cabin, the infotainment system will be updated. We can also expect navigation system as well as Android / Apple Auto integration. The front seats should have heating and cooling options. In addition, there is going to be dual zone climate control, excellent audio system, a lot of safety features, and many others as well.

Engine and Performance

Beneath the hood, 2018 Sonata will be powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. The naturally aspirated 2.4L versions will have the capability of generating up to 185 horsepower. There is the rumor about highly tuned 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with the power of 250 hp to 260 hp, and the high possibility that this engine will go out. We can expect front wheel drive type. When it comes to the transmission system, this engine will be mated to a Hyundai’s new 8-speed automatic most likely. Thanks to the new transmissions, we can expect better performance and fuel economy.
New 2018 Hyundai Sonata hybrid will definitely go out, but in which engine combination remain still unknown.
