2018 Nissan Leaf Changes

Although the car was quietly covered up to hide the exterior features, however during the spy shots some details were extracted out. You will find out lots of features similar to the Nissan IDS Concept. The side view of both the cars almost looks alike. The drifting rooftop of the 2016 model is being carried in the new model, whereas the vertical tail lamps of the older version are replaced by angular taillights. The headlamps are also small and in an angular shape. The V-shape grille is also expected to be revised. At the rear, you will find a large spoiler with the aggressive look. The previous model of Nissan Leaf was offered in three trims, S, SV, and SL. However, it is not disclosed yet that the buyers are going to have the same trim levels or it will only be available in base trim.

Electric Motor/ Battery

The current motor of the new Nissan Leaf 2018 has 107 horsepower and 187 pounds-feet of torque like its predecessor. It is expected that it will be available with multiple battery sizes from 40 kWh to 60 kWh, hence giving an increase to the miles per charge with two to three different battery size options. The execution is likely to stay in a similar manner if the sets won’t be much heavier than the existing 30 kW units(107 miles per charge). The previous 60 kWh model had a 214 miles range, but this one could get over the 300-mile range (some claim 340-mile range). The new Nissan can also be self-driven under certain conditions with the help of newly introduced ProPilot Technology. More information is expected to be disclosed by the company after the launch.
